Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol. The preservative stops bacterial growth, so one vial can be drawn from again and again.
The standard bacteriostatic concentration. Keeps the vial usable for up to 28 days after the first puncture.
Each 10mL vial arrives with an intact aluminum crimp and flip-off cap. Broken seal? Don’t use it, tell us.
A Certificate of Analysis is published for each batch. Open it from the product page or the Lab Reports page.
Vials are cushioned individually and boxed so they arrive intact, whether you order one or twenty-five.
Bacteriostatic water is the standard diluent for lyophilized (powdered) vials. Here is the basic process.
Flip off the caps and wipe both rubber stoppers with an alcohol pad. Let them dry for a few seconds.
Pull the amount of bacteriostatic water you need into a sterile syringe. The calculator below tells you how much.
Inject down the inside wall of the powder vial, then swirl gently. Never shake. Store as directed for what you mixed.
Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol stops bacteria from growing, so one vial can be drawn from more than once. It is the standard diluent for reconstituting powdered vials.
Up to 28 days after the first puncture when stored as directed. Write the date you first used it on the label and discard it after 28 days. Unopened vials are good until the expiry date printed on the label.

It depends on the vial size and the dose you want. Use the reconstitution calculator: enter the milligrams in the vial, the mL of water you add, and your dose, and it shows exactly how many syringe units to draw.
Sterile water has no preservative and is meant for single use. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol so it can be used for multiple draws over 28 days.
